Providence fire fighters do not just work in our city. We are Providence. We are members of the community we are sworn to protect - serving as youth coaches, participating in our schools and churches, and taking an active role in our neighborhoods. 799 is also a strong supporter of numerous local charitable foundations and causes.

Local 799 serves over five hundred active and retired members. All officers of the Union serve as firefighters in the Providence Fire Department and are elected by the general membership every two years. Local 799 is proud to be one of the oldest and largest locals in the International Association of Fire Fighters, AFL-CIO-CLC. 

The best interests of Local 799 are the best interests of the people of Providence.
